HARLOW boxer Francis Wright was awarded boxer of the year for a fourth season running

“Francis entered this season with determination and an unwavering commitment to her sport. In her very first year competing as a senior female boxer, she has raised the bar and set new standards for excellence. Her dedication and tireless efforts have not only brought pride to our club but have also captured the admiration of the wider boxing community. As a key member of Harlow boxing Club we are extrememly proud of her achievements

Her accomplishments include competing This winter, Francis stepped into the ring at the prestigious Women’s Winter Box Cup in Sheffield. Displaying skill, composure, and true fighting spirit, she defeated all challengers and claimed the coveted gold medal.

“This victory not only stands as a testament to her talent but also marks her as one of Britain’s rising stars in women’s boxing. But Francis did not stop there. In her debut season as a senior, she took on the challenge of competing in National Elite Senior England boxing Championships. First up was the regional finals for her to progress on onto the national stage. She competed in the Eastern Counties national finals, against an older, more experienced opponent, she proved her mettle—emerging victorious and securing first place. For a newcomer to the senior ranks, this is a phenomenal achievement. The national stage brought further accolades for Francis.

“At the Senior Championships, she battled her way to a hard-earned bronze medal, showing the kind of grit and persistence that defines the very best in our sport.

“And to top off an extraordinary season, Francis reached the semi-finals at the Haringey Box Cup, one of the country’s most competitive tournaments. Her performances throughout demonstrated her ever-growing skill and her hunger to improve with each bout. In my opinion & DAZN we thought we won the semi-final and should have boxed for the gold. Francis achievements this season are the result of discipline, resilience, and an unbreakable spirit. She is a true example for young boxers everywhere and proves that with hard work, anything is possible.
