Frequency Machine: Christmas Family Fundraiser at Burnt Mill Social Club (but lots to come in 2026)

Burnt Mill Snooker and Social Club / Tue 2nd Dec 2025 at 04:48pm

FREQUENCY Machine is a new Community Initiative being launched in Harlow in February 2026.

The aim of the project is to bring people together through the power of music.

They want to reach out and offer DJ workshops and dance events for the community.

A spokesperson said: “Our vision is to reach out to the community and offer them the opportunity to learn a new skill.  Our founder is Psychologically trained and has a background in supporting people with a wide range of needs.

“She also has a huge passion for music and in her second role, DJ’s regularly in the UK and Europe.  Frequency Machine is the opportunity to bring these two things together and help people to support their own wellbeing and mental health through music and connection.

We will be running six week DJ workshops which will include an introduction to DJ skills, exploring creating a DJ name and logo and promoting yourself as an artist all interwoven into how we use music to support our own mental health and wellbeing.  These workshops will be run initially with children and young people in the local area.  Additionally, we will offer dance music events where we can connect with one another and any young people who have completed the workshops will be given the opportunity to DJ to their friends and family.

Dancing is exercise and supports us to feel better by the release of endorphins.  Connection with others is proven to make us feel happier in ourselves….and learning a new skill (whatever our age) is a form of empowerment and boosts our confidence too.  We feel strongly that music IS the answer for our community at the current time and can support us in so many ways.

Frequency Machine is currently registering as a CIC and applying for funding across West Essex to buy the equipment needed to run the sessions effectively.

“We have recently been awarded £500 from Harlow Council’s KAO Seed Funding which will be used for our CIC registration and to gain promotional materials.

“We are also hosting a Christmas Family Fundraiser at Burnt Mill Social Club on Friday 19th December from 6-11.30pm (children allowed in the venue until 9pm).  Tickets are available on Skiddle and are Pay What You Can to make it accessible for all.

There will be amazing DJ’s on the night;

  • Clare McCartney
  • SAYA
  • Stewart Cox
  • MAYA
  • Little M

They will be bringing uplifting house vibes all night long plus fun filled games.  There will be a prize raffle (with tickets available on the night!) AND all children can see Santa who will actually be the infamous MC Chalkie White (in disguise 😉)
