Major milestones reached at Harlow Innovation Park as investment grows, new social club opens and more jobs created

Harlow Council / Tue 6th Jan 2026 at 08:11am

HARLOW Innovation Park on London Road is entering an exciting new phase, with momentum building as development accelerates and fresh job opportunities are created for local residents. The multi-million-pound site is generating new jobs, attracting significant private sector investment, and reinforcing Harlow’s reputation as a growing destination for business, innovation and community life.

Recent milestones include the official opening of the David Lloyd Harlow Club, the launch of The Social Club – a new café and social space open to the whole community – alongside ongoing improvements to parking and landscaping across the site. Work has also begun on the next major development, Identity, marked by a recent groundbreaking ceremony (identityharlow.co.uk).

The Social Club is a new council-led development, offering a welcoming place to meet, recharge and connect. Its name reflects the site’s heritage, standing on land that once hosted several of Harlow’s historic social clubs, while reimagining that role for a new generation.

Commenting on the progress, Cllr Dan Swords, Leader of Harlow Council, said:

“Harlow Innovation Park shows what’s possible when we invest with ambition and purpose. These milestones are about more than new buildings – they’re about creating jobs, bringing people together and securing a strong future for our town.

“Every single day we are Building Harlow’s Future, and this is yet more proof of that progress.”

Together, these developments form a key part of Harlow Council’s mission to ‘secure our future’ as part of its plan to Build Harlow’s Future – ensuring Harlow continues to grow as a place where people want to live, work and invest.

It is empty, there is not the traffic to support it, which is why it took years to open and the council have ended up running it. I would give it 6 months before it becomes empty. How come you never ran the story about ESA, AI and the innovation park that is actually innovative and one of the few things there that is.

So this is the "social club" they had planned when the Maypole was shut in 2013? 🤣

Glad we’ve decided it’s failed already. Saves the inconvenience of actually trying to use it.

Generic, my company is based there, one of the few doing innovation in the park, I have been using it.

Is it another cafe/ social area in Harlow you can only get to if you drive? Why spend all the money and cause so much disruption with the new 'travel corridors' if you can't really get anywhere on public transport?

I wonder if people know buses and bicycles have been invented, because Suzy says "you can only get to if you drive"?

The Innovation Park is brilliant for Harlow. Is it any coincidence that David Lloyd opened in the area. Adam, pleased to see you are there. I don't get the negativity.
