St Mark’s outstanding Sister Act is pure heaven

Education: Secondary / Thu 5th Feb 2026 at 07:37am

“ST Mark’s students performed to full houses for both showings of Sister Act Jr., and the atmosphere was electric. As always, it was a wonderful chance to welcome families and friends into the school and celebrate the many talents of our performers. This was a whole-school effort, with all year groups from 7 to 13 represented in the cast.

Led by Lola as Deloris and supported by Korban’s endearing “Sweaty Eddie,” Lucy’s stern Mother Superior, and Jack’s charismatic mobster Curtis, the cast took the audience on a joyful, fast‑paced journey through life inside a convent. The show certainly delivered, with sharp comedic timing and demanding musical numbers holding the audience’s attention from the very first scene.

The vocal talent on display was exceptional. Ben’s portrayal of Joey brought a gentle, lilting tone that drew enthusiastic applause, while the principal ensemble shone throughout. Standout performances came from Noah (Monsignor), Chloe (Sister Mary Patrick), and Eleanor (Sister Mary Lazarus). Marian’s beautiful and heartfelt rendition of Life I Never Led was another highlight, leaving a lasting impression.

The band rounded off the evening with a vibrant performance of Raise Your Voice, bringing audience members to their feet.

The Art department once again created a stunning backdrop, and a team of students backstage and front of house helped the production run seamlessly. A huge well done to everyone involved!”

Particularly at a time when we hear that Singing is sadly missing from school life, this was a truly brilliant antedote! Congratulations to teachers, pupils, technical crew, set designers and all who contributed to this wonderful experience.

I believe the standout performance was from Lola. Her acting and singing were second to none, almost as if she were a guest performer from the West End. She made the show, absolutely no question about that. She is destined for stardom.

Agreed, Lola was the star of the show.
