The deadline for applications to be submitted is Tuesday 31st March 2026.
Previous bursary recipient, Carolyn Smith, a teacher and mother of 4 from Harlow was the first recipient of the bursary upon its launch in 2024.

Carolyn applied to Harlow Health Centres Trust, for financial support of £10,000 to further her academic journey by undertaking a full-time Master’s Degree in Child and Adolescent Mental Health at Anglia Ruskin University starting in Autumn 2024.
During her time studying, Carolyn dropped from doing full time teaching to supply teaching and tutoring on a part time basis to fit around her studies.
Carolyn graduated in December 2025, and is planning to work directly with children, adolescents and their families with the aim of supporting them through challenging periods by educating them on practical tools and strategies that promote emotional wellbeing and resilience.
Furthermore, Carolyn has applied to undertake a PhD in order to continue researching mental health in children and adolescents. Through this work Carolyn hopes to contribute to early education, intervention and support, with the long-term goal of reducing mental health difficulties by addressing them from a young age.
Of the support she has received from Harlow Health Centres Trust, Carolyn has commented “Thank you for your generosity and belief in my potential. Your support has had a lasting impact on my career path, and the opportunity to complete this qualification has been both professionally and personally transformative. I am deeply grateful for the opportunity you have provided.”
