Paws at the Ready! St Clare Hospice’s virtual Dog walking challenge returns this March

Charity / Sun 1st Mar 2026 at 10:50am

ST Clare Hospice’s paw-pular virtual dog walking challenge, Paws for a Cause, is returning for its second year this March – local dog walkers are invited to grab their leads, get outdoors, and take part in a month-long challenge with their canine companions, all while supporting local hospice care.

Running from 1st -31st March, walkers can begin the challenge at any point during the month and complete it in whichever way suits them. Whether walking, jogging, wheeling or running, challengers can choose to complete 31 miles or take on this year’s new 62 mile option, all while enjoying outdoor time with their pups and raising funds for St Clare Hospice.

Gary Albert, from Epping, took part in the challenge last year, and said: ‘When I heard about Paws for a Cause it felt like the perfect challenge for me and my dog, Buddy. We’re always out on long walks, so I thought, ‘Let’s go for it.’ It was good fun and we managed to raise £345 for the hospice!
“I’ve always tried to support St Clare whenever I can, because the service they provide is second to none. I’ve seen this first hand when both a close friend and my father-in-law were cared by them in the past.’

Walkers can earn exclusive St Clare goodies as they fundraise throughout the month:

Raise £30 – Receive a free St Clare branded doggy bandana
Raise £60 – Receive a free St Clare t-shirt
Raise £150 – Be entered into a prize draw to win a professional doggy photoshoot
Paws for a Cause is proudly sponsored by Kew Vets, whose generous support helps make the event possible.
