Harlow Girlguiding continues to flourish (and you are welcome to join)

Communities / Tue 7th Apr 2026 at 11:51am

OVER the past few weeks, we have published a number of pieces regarding the Scouts in Harlow.

It would be re-miss of us to not mention the Girl Guides in Harlow.

Harlow has 14 units operating across the town.

Four Rainbows, Five Brownies, Three Guides and Two Rangers.

There is a total close to 200 girls.

YH went up to visit one group at St Mary Magdalene Church recently.

There is a great sense of community and camaraderie among the group.

They are very well led with dedicated leaders.

One such person is Pauline Gillett, who was recently recognised for sixty years of remarkable service to Girl Guiding.

A spokesperson said: “Her entire guiding life has been defined by dedication, adventure and an unwavering belief in the power of girls and young women.

“Pauline has led the 1st Tye Green Guides for her entire guiding career, becoming a positive role model to hundreds if not thousands”
