FOLLOWING the closure of the Backing Essex Business programme on 31 March, Ambitious Essex has launched updated support for local businesses, overseen by Essex Growth Agency.

Businesses can now access free support through the Ambitious Essex programme. This includes mentoring, workshops and webinars for growing businesses across the county.

Tristan Smith, Head of Business Growth and Inward Investment at Essex Growth Agency commented :

“We are bringing business support together under Ambitious Essex. This creates a clearer offer for local businesses.

“Companies can still access free expert guidance and practical advice. Support is now delivered in a more connected way, making it easier to get the right help at the right time. This marks the next chapter in how Essex Growth Agency supports local enterprise.”

Backing Essex Business provided support to ECC from July 2024 – March 2026. It created 630 jobs as a direct result. It also safeguarded 570 jobs and provided hundreds of hours of business advice.
