Harlow pensioner pleads guilty to numerous child sex offences

A HARLOW pensioner has pleaded guilty to a number of sex offences including attempting to engage in sexual communication with a child.
John Goodman, aged 76, of The Maples, Harlow pled to the following at Chelmsford Magistrates court.

On September 13th, 2025, at Harlow. you were in possession of 8 prohibited images of a child.
On or before September 13th, 2025, at Harlow, made indecent photographs, namely 71 category A of a child.
On or before September 13th, 2025, at Harlow, made indecent photographs, namely 57 category B of a child.
On or before September 13th, 2025, at Harlow, made indecent photographs, namely 51 category C of a child.
Between September 4th, 2025 and September 6th 2025, at Harlow, being a person aged 18 or over, for the purpose of obtaining sexual gratification, intentionally attempted to communicate with a person under 16 who you did not reasonably believe to be 16 or over, the communication being sexual.
Between July 14th and July 28th 2025 in Harlow, being a person aged 18 or over, for the purpose of obtaining sexual gratification, intentionally attempted to communicate with a person under 16 who you did not reasonably believe to be 16 or over, the communication being sexual.
Between July 24th and August 20th, 2025 in Harlow, being a person aged 18 or over, for the purpose of obtaining sexual gratification, intentionally attempted to communicate with a person under 16 who you did not reasonably believe to be 16 or over, the communication being sexual.
Goodman has been released on conditional bail. His next scheduled appearance is May 25th at Chelmsford Crown Court.
