Harlow MP Chris Vince gives full backing to under-fire Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer

News / Thu 23rd Apr 2026 at 09:11am

HARLOW MP Chris Vince has continued to support the beleaguered Prime Minister, Sir Keri Starmer.

The controversy over the appointment of Peter Mandelson has been well documented (see below).

We asked Harlow MP Chris Vince, if the Prime Minister still retained his full support.

Mr Vince said: “Yes of course the Prime Minister has my full support. He has stated that the appointment of Peter Mandelson was an error and has apologised twice.

But even more importantly that apology was made to the victims of Jeffrey Epstein.

“When it comes to delivering change, a lot has been done but of course there is still a lot more to do”.

This man has no sense of honour, it’s a clear as day that he is just a yes man who only cares about pleasing the PM. Typical careerist politician behaviour. No amount of lies told can stop Chris from doing the bidding of his master in hopes of further strengthening his career. This will back fire come the next general election where Chris undoubtedly will be ousted after just one term as an MP.

Barry sums it up correctly. Chris has shown he has no backbone and is just Starmer stooge. He will out next election for certain.

Can anyone tell me exactly what this MP has done for the local communities in Harlow all he ever does is back Starmer and his cronies in Downing Street. You never see him out and about talking and listening to his constituents and I would say the last thing this town needs is a Labour run council.

Jac, whatever criticisms you may have of Chris, not being out and about isn't justified. Facebook often shows him and his labour colleagues canvassing, he is also a regular supporter of Harlow Town.

We need him and Labour out!

Well he will be gone now then. You never see Chris in the worn unless it is education, must be getting ready for returning after losing his seat.

You may back Starmer but does his cabinet?

How on earth can Chris vince be supporting a PM that has lied not only his way into Government, but all the way through since he was elected and I might add on a manifesto built on pure lies. Well when starmer is pushed out I have no doubt the labour MPs will be knocking him. Until then it's a case of self preservation. L👀 K out for No 1. Talk about burying his head in the sand is an under statement. Shame on you Chris vince your reputation as an MP is in tatters.

Starmer has been an idiot over this issue, but we also don't need the rigmarole of a new PM while we have the Iran situation ongoing, we need stability. If Reform or Tories had been in charge of this country, we'd be at war already.

Chris Vince, like his boss Starmer is a dead man walking. Through his blind sycophancy he has lost all moral responsibility and respect. He will fall on the same sword. He made his own choices and should accept the consequences.

Liebour party - Erosion of trust due to broken or diluted election commitments, particularly around taxation and cost‑of‑living protections. Pensioners facing declining living standards despite a lifetime of contribution, with inadequate protection against inflation and rising costs. Farming and rural communities experiencing reduced support, threatening food security and domestic production. Weakened international standing, with the UK increasingly perceived as lacking decisive leadership on the global stage. Ineffective border control and enforcement, raising legitimate concerns around national security and pressure on public services. Continued expansion of an unreformed welfare system, allowing long‑term dependency to persist rather than prioritising pathways back into work. Insufficient safeguards to ensure benefits are targeted at those genuinely unable to work, undermining fairness for taxpayers. Policy changes around family and child benefits viewed as encouraging dependency without corresponding responsibility or sustainability. Growing strain on public finances driven by short‑term policy decisions rather than long‑term economic planning. Overall shift toward managing decline rather than promoting growth, aspiration, and self‑reliance.

Mustn't like being an MP with that kind of density exposed.

Starmer is an honourable man who made a mistake and acknowledged it. A decent bloke who should remain PM despite the furore within the Westminster bubble.

Chris Vince is not only ideologically linked but also financially linked to the discredited Labour faction called Labour Together that propelled Starmer to party leader. A faction exposed by journalists including Gabriel Pogrund and Harry Yorke of the Sunday Times and by author Paul Holden in his book The Fraud. The response from Labour Together was to hire a dodgy US PR company to smear them with false allegations. Despite repeated mentions by me of these smear tactics, Chris Vince has not condemned Labour Together nor offered to pay back the £10k support for his general election campaign. All evidenced by me in past YourHarlow articles with links to the Electoral Commission and Vince's Register of Interests. Time for Vince to sever his links with Starmer's Pretorian Guard called Labour Together.

Is this the same Chris Vince that vanished out the door when he lost the council elections! The only reason he is in office is because the conservatives couldn’t mess the country up anymore! And it was a protest vote not because it was Chris Vince! What a very sad state our country is in because if Labour and the conservatives !

Starmer has made no end of mistakes from start to finish. He is walking a tightrope until after the elections. If the Labour MPs had any balls and integrity they would listen to the majority of people in this county and vote No confidence in Starmer Sadly they are only interested in saving their own skins and positions. They do very well thank you 🫰 and Noone is going to rock their boat, not even the British public, who I might add pay their large salaries. Along with their expenses

Chris Vince is a weak MP and has done nothing for Harlow. He used the town to get elected. Canvassing is not helping the town, it is protecting his seat, which I am 100% certain will be lost at the next election. He has no conviction when it comes to a moral compass and just agrees with the PM, who cannot speak the truth. Harlow Council are doing a great job for the town, whilst Chris Vince is not representing the needs of Harlow whilst sat in Westminster.
