CHURCHGATE Primary School is taking part in the Lions on the Loose campaign to raise funds for St Clare’s Hospice.

Children have entered a competition to name their very own lion statue which they have decorated to represent the school.

A spokesperson said: “Our lion will be on the loose over the Summer and be part of the lions art trail throughout Harlow.

“Children have also produced lion inspired art work using a variety of artistic techniques including printing, geometric pattern, collage and clay.

“On Tuesday 21st April we held an art exhibition where friends and family could purchase the art work. We also held a raffle to win a cuddly lion and sold lion cupcakes, tea and biscuits.

“We have raised over £800 which we are incredibly proud of and grateful to the Churchgate community”.
