Ward by Ward: Netteswell: Could it be the return of Colleen?
Elections / Sun 26th Apr 2026 at 03:17pm
WE appear to be suggesting “close but no cigar” for Reform in a lot of wards in Harlow so far.
This is our fifth piece out of eleven.
So here we are in the heart of Harlow, where at present there are three sitting Labour councillors.
Back in 2024, James Griggs got 67% of the vote. He is a local and popular man. James isn’t up this year but Stefan Mullard-Toal is.

Stefan is Chris Vince’s right-hand man and fulfils several roles in the Labour Party. For a number of reasons, we are very impressed with the work Stefan has done over past ten years.
However, the irony may be that he may be the most vulnerable to the antipathy towards Labour right now.
The Reform candidate is Cindy Fry. Again we know very little about here but, just a few other Reform candidates we have spoken to, her intentions may be to simply represent “first and foremost the long term residents of Harlow”.

What may happen is Reform end up with a few councillors who may be able to fulfil functions of ward councillor but may lack a leader. That is why they may need their candidate in Mark Hall to win.
The Conservative candidate is former councillor Colleen Morrison. We think the Conservatives appreciate her when she was a councillor as Colleen did a lot of hard graft behind the scenes (see estate inspections for details).
Of course, we also remember her whackier moments: Panama Papers and Fat Camps to name two!

Once again, this is a tough call. It may be a question of where will the Labour votes go?
Could the Dan Swords Factor prove that Colleen is no has-been?
We think Colleen might sneak it?
YH Prediction : Cons Gain
Alternatively, Reform will sweep the board and we will pled the Minnehoma defence……
List of Candidates

Another intriguing prediction by YH, the science behind it being unclear, as independent polling puts Netteswell as a solid Reform win.
Well then Scott Hegley, you shouldn't worry as long as Netteswell voters are happy to vote for party that has no idea how a Council operates, have no policies for Harlow and plan to scrutinise the local Conservative's Budget that Reform already supported and voted for! I am sure Netteswell voters are not that dumb. Maybe you could swing it by telling them about all the boats you will stop on Netteswell Pond. That could be a real vote winner! 😂
Scott, as the local Reform leader, you seem a bit upset with the prediction. Do you actually know where Netteswell is? I ask because I understand you don't even live in Harlow!
Where is this independent polling? Reform a bit short on evidence as usual.
Hey, Scott, the local Reform leader. Chill out! You don't even live in Harlow! Do you actually know where Netteswell well is?
Scott the man from outta town! Chill dude!
The only poll that counts is the one on 7 May. Hopefully, the good people of Harlow will vote for the best interest of our town and return the local Conservative candidates led by Dan Swords. That will be the best outcome for Harlow by far.
Colleen Morrison was a fantastic councillor for Netteswell from 2021/24. She has lived in Harlow for many, many years and has real passion for our town and its history. She is the standout candidate for Netteswell.
Colleen is the best option by far! Let’s keep the rebuild up and vote correctly Harlow!
Vote Labour or Reform and the entire regeneration is at risk. Let's stick with the Dan Swords' local Conservatives and finish the job for the sake of Harlow.
Simon - https://www.pollcheck.co.uk/council-projections/harlow/#/harlow Enjoy.
Netteswell can lead the way supporting Colleen and the Dan Swords local Conservatives to complete the regeneration and uplift of Harlow.
"Colleen , Colleen , Colleen , Colleeeeeeen I'm beggin' of you, please don't take my seat."
I think Scott H is right. The Pollcheck link he sent shows that Reform are on course to win 10 wards. That is very encouraging.
The toy town Pollcheck has no listing at Companies House. It does not even list a business address on its website. In its About section it says: "PollCheck is not a member of the British Polling Council... PollCheck is run by one person, PJ - a politics hobbyist who started PollCheck in August 2025 as a side project..." Not even a full name. This is as reliable as asking a taxi driver for a prediction. More fake news from Reform.
David Forman, it just shows what twats Reform are locally. Seems there main source of information is Dennis the Menace in The Beano comic!
Paul, spot on.
Pollcheck provides no data on how their figures were obtained, when the poll was undertaken, who and how they sampled or when. These global figures cannot pick up local trends such as the impact of local candidates and whether they are standing this year. Or of course, the impact of Dan Swords who we hear about every day on doorsteps across the town.
Up the reform 👍
Mr T, up where? A bunch of jokers who no nothing about how to run a council! 🤣🤣
