RESIDENTS of Harlow district are invited to attend a public meeting hosted by Roger Hirst, Police, Fire and Crime Commissioner (PFCC) for Essex, to discuss local crime and community safety issues.
The meeting will take place at Passmores Academy, Tracyes Rd, Harlow CM18 6JH on Thursday 21st May 2026, from 7pm to 8pm.

It will give residents the opportunity to hear about the latest community safety activity in the district and raise concerns directly with those responsible for keeping Essex safe.
Roger Hirst will be joined by representatives from Essex Police, Essex County Fire and Rescue Service, and Harlow Community Safety Partnership, who will provide updates on local policing, fire safety, and partnership work to tackle crime and anti-social behaviour. There will also be a Q&A session with the panel.
Roger Hirst said: “Public meetings like this are a vital part of how we stay connected with our communities. It’s a chance to listen, to share what’s being done, and to work together to make Harlow district an even safer place to live and work.”

It would be worth asking the Fire Service chief Rick Hylton how long the man on the roof at Ladyshot had to wait for the aerial ladder platform (ALP) to arrive from Chelmsford. Some years ago Harlow had its own.
For historical accuracy see article https://www.yourharlow.com/2019/08/28/terminus-house-nearest-aerial-turntable-ladder-was-in-chelmsford/
It would be worth asking how much that whole episide cost, police, fire and ambulance service. Will we ever get the counter service back at the police station. If not then can we in Harlow have a reduction on our council tax
Years ago the meetings were held at Latton Bush centre, then after slagging of The Stow shopping centre by calling the sad death of a Polish man a Race Crime which raised many concerns amongst the Polish community attracting many more Polish from outside of Harlow to The Stow looking for interaction, even the Polish ambassador and Harlow’s MP Robert Halfon came to The Stow shopping centre. The Essex Police then decided to announce to the press and media outlets that The Stow shopping centre was the worst area for anti-social behaver in the county. After a bit of persuasion meetings were held at Moot House, The Stow. Now I see the meetings have moved back to South Harlow, is South Harlow now the worst for anti-social behaver in Essex? Or do the Conservative councillors that make up the vast majority of people gathered feel safer in South Harlow.
