Police continue to investigate series of fires off Third Avenue in Harlow
General / Mon 18th May 2026 at 01:07pm
OFFICERS are continuing an investigation into a series of fires this month in Harlow.
Each of the fires took place on abandoned or otherwise unoccupied land off Third Avenue.
Throughout May, officers have been called to a number of fires impacting derelict sheds, a garage and a parked vehicle.

Enquiries into each of these incidents are ongoing.
Officers are keeping an open mind as to whether there is a link between any of the fires.
Enquiries will include regular patrols carried out by officers in the area impacted, alongside contact with council colleagues exploring whether any further measures around lighting or CCTV can be implemented.
Opportunities around forensics and securing any witness statements will be explored.
