Tougher action against parents in battle to tackle youth crime

EARLIER intervention and tougher action against parents are among measures being announced by the government to tackle crime by young people in England and Wales reports the BBC.

Deputy Prime Minister David Lammy said support for families and addressing the drivers of offending would mean “fewer young people become trapped in cycles of crime”.

I am shure the people off Southampton might want action not words. and anywhere else with younger people and antisocial behaviour. this is whot you get when you take away all the youth clubs and there is no respect any more no deterent no fear bring back a good clip round the ear??? even that is to late now they will come back with a mashete or even worse a gun 😮‍💨😒😡

You can’t make it up can you. They make it illegal to smack your children then wonder why the children end up out of control, then decide it’s the parents fault for not being smart enough to invent more devious punishments.

Guy, it's not illegal to smack children in England. You can't beat them black and blue though, quite rightly. Anyone who can't parent successfully without beating the hell out of their children shouldn't have children. It is time parents started to parent.

I think this a great idea. Parents should be sent to prison if their children are carrying knives. Also for the non-stop terror attacks, parents need to do more but unfortunately parents have no power! A parent can’t keep a child indoors as it breaches their human rights. We must leave the ECHR

Finally it's parents responsibility to raise their kids! They have same responsibility for crime as their kids Stop blaming school and streets for luck of parenting
