Epping: Bin collections disruption due to extreme heat
News / Thu 25th Jun 2026 at 07:58am
DUE to the extreme hot weather, some waste and recycling collections may not be completed as planned this week.
Our collection crews work hard in all weathers to keep local services running, but the extreme heat presents a significant risk to their health and safety. Conditions of this level can increase the risk of heat stress, dehydration and reduced operational capacity.

Our crews welfare remains a high priority. To help protect them while they carry out this physically demanding work, we need to temporarily pause some activities as conditions become unsafe.
If your bin is due for collection and not collected on the scheduled day this week, continue to put it out on the boundary of your property and we will return to collect it as soon as we can.
We aim to complete all missed collections by 6pm on Monday, subject to any further disruption caused by the weather.
Please only report a missed collection if your property alone has been missed. If the whole road is affected, do not report it. Crews will return on Monday to complete any outstanding collections.
Check to see if your road is affected on our missed collections page
Thank you for your patience and understanding as we work to keep collection crews safe.
We used to be a real country now we are just a joke it is a little sun, that's all. This nannying has got to end how do you think people across southern Europe or the US go about things like this.
