ABERCROMBIE Way in Harlow has been in darkness for a number of weeks.

The road runs from Third Avenue across to Staple Tye.

Drivers and pedestrians have been complaining about the conditions.

Not only are there road safety implications but also pedestrian safety as well.

The lights on the A414 near to Church Langley are also off as well.

Cynics have wondered if Essex County Council are dragging ther feet in retaliation to Harlow having lights switched back on after midnight.

Others have wondered if this is what has been described as “Decommissioning by stealth”.

YH has contacted Essex County Councillor for Harlow South, cllr Mike Hardware on January 20th who said he would look into it.
