Harlow MP Robert Halfon defends criticism of Theresa May
News / Sun 12th May 2019 at 04:33am
Honest and straight about the several points put to him, swerved nothing, and gave answers that restored some faith in the disastrous political position that we find ourselves in. We,in Harlow, are very aware of his value to the man in the street, by the amount of investment coming into our area. The future of Harlow has been backed by this government for to-day, and the foreseeable future, because of his intervention on out behalf. Anybody who fancies the Socialist candidate for this coming election, needs to deeply consider the benefits coming from Halfon's political expertise, and his contacts at Westminster. Labour does breed POVERTY.
He gives a good interview. He mentions his voting record - this site shows his record and attendance: https://www.publicwhip.org.uk/mp.php?id=uk.org.publicwhip/member/41407 Before lending your vote to someone it is always a good idea to do a bit of research on that person, no matter what the party or the election. You don't want to waste you vote on somone who can't be bothered to turn up, or has views that you disagree with or are somewhat extreme. You want to make sure they are going to do the job they are supposed to do. Robert's attendance record is quite good. His voting record shows he generally goes with the party line but isn't afarid to go against at times.
Has the air of desperation, plunging the knife in to the back of an already fatally wounded leader I fear reflects the the survival instinct of self preservation. While no fan of any of our current political offerings, it’s a bit rich to criticise a lack of leadership. WHO ELSE STOOD UP TO THE PLATE? No one!! Farage scuttled off to line his pockets ( still has no answers , whilst lining his pockets with the MEP pay packet .. colossal hypocrite and fraud . ) Corbyn is just incompetent and clueless . Conservatives are a joke including Mr Halfon.. but . but. at least at least Teresa May tried .. Boris scarpered, Gove ran away . Corbyn just hid . Leadership is stepping up to the plate .. taking a risk NONE, NONE OF THESE POLITICAL LIGHTWEIGHTS WERE PREPARED TO DO IT. Shame on you Robert Halfon ...
TOFPN, I assume your a fan of May ? How many astute and adept politicians have resigned their positions because of her, flagrant un-ethical approach to Brexit. I despise her attitude, and total dis-regard for the referendum, more importantly, the people who actually voted for it.
Today a letter was sent urging Theresa May not to sign up to Labour’s plan for a customs union with the EU. One of the signatories was Robert Halfon. During the indicative votes Labour whiped in favour of the Norway Plus aka Common Market 2.0 option. This is the same option that Robert Halfon mentioned in the interview above, and has worked with MP Nick Boles and others to draft. He even wrote this article here: https://www.conservativehome.com/thecolumnists/2019/03/robert-halfon-mythbusting-common-market-2-0.html My open question to Robert Halfon is: if Labour & the government were to agree to the Common Market 2.0 option, would this be acceptable to the other signatories like Boris Johnson, IDS, Dominic Raaab and David Davis? [Micky, we have disagreed before and probably will do again. You can also add incompetent, inflexible, and inefficient to the list of qualities of this weeks prime minister]
Katy, back to Central office for you. Open questions ? I think that you are a little way out for me. Devils Advocate doesn't work in Harlow. Start from the beginning, Leave 52 % against 48%. Who wins, no strings ? exactly. No chit-chat or devious, aah yes, but we didn't discuss etc. Any comments about your PPC, in Harlow. ?
I cant understand the conservatives picking may as a leader, the first thing is shes a remoaner..the next thing she does is lose a 20 seat majority in 2017 the next thing she does is get a deal with the EU which is actually worst than staying in the EU. We have nobody actually to vote for now..tory labour are no no,s the liberals are a joke on their election message were told that 1.4 extra leave voters to remain..is "paper thin" change UK want things to stay the same...by default farage is the only person who makes any sense ,of course its all relative.Qiute frankly were never going to leave the EU we may as well just admit it the system just wont allow it,our only hope is for the EU to collapse which is more than likely.
"I cant understand the conservatives picking may as a leader" During the 2016 Conservative Party leadership election Mrs May got 50% of the vote or more both times. At the time she was endorsed by many MPs including Michael "Back Stabber" Gove, "Rhyming Slang" Jeremy Hunt, Chris "Ferries" Grayling, and Robert Halfon. She was also supported by the Daily Mail, The Sun, The Daily Telegraph, and The Sunday Telegraph. So you know who helped her get where she is today. "she does is get a deal with the EU" Don't forget this deal was negotiated by David "Brexit Bulldog" Davis (Leaver), when he could be bothered to show up. Then Dominic Raaaab (also Leaver) took over after he gave up. This week's Brexit secretary is Stephen Barclay (again Leaver). So Leavers have had a major role in producing the deal. "We have nobody actually to vote for now" Well, there is one national party that isn't tearing itself apart, has a clear policy on Europe and wants an end to "big government". Unlike the Farage Fan Club, they have actual, real policies now, not in a few weeks time. Go on ronnieboy, vote for the Greens. You know you want to.
kthe5 funny you should mention the greens, I actually do my "bit" for the world..I walk where humanly possible I save water and I use the train and hardly ever fly, however I look at caroline lucas and think "no thank you" she thinks mass immigration is a good thing she thinks that leaving the EU will decimate the car industry ect ect..its actually leaving the EU that will be good for the enviroment., no thanks I wont be voting green.
