WEST ESSEX DISABILITY CHARITY RECEIVES £1K CASH BOOST

LOCAL  charity, Accuro (Care Services) that supports people with disabilities across West Essex has been awarded £1,000 by Persimmon Homes.

Accuro received the donation from Persimmon Homes Essex as part of its nationwide Community Champions scheme.

The initiative is a national programme where clubs, groups and good causes can apply for funding up to the value of £1,000 to match money they have already raised themselves.

Accuro aims to improve the quality of life for those with disabilities by offering unrivalled services that help to avoid loneliness and reduce social isolation.

Natalie Emuss, for the group, said: “We’re thrilled to have been chosen as one of Persimmon Homes’ Community Champions.

“Accuro have been supporting the local community for 35 years, we offer a wide range of services to support people with a disability and their families. An active social life can help people with a l disability to feel happier, healthier, included and valued.

“We are raising funds for our Cool Connections youth club, which supports young people living with ASD. The club provides a wide range of activities which are chosen by the young people involved as well as day trips and a one-to-one befriending service.”

Phil Standen, managing director at Persimmon Homes Essex, said: “We strongly believe in supporting the communities where we build, and are delighted to support Accuro and the vital services they provide to the local community.
