FOUR intrepid members of staff from Mark Hall Academy braved the searing heat to cycle from London to Paris in just a few days.

Rob Green, Eve Whittington, Mark Kimberly and John McHugh cycled, self organised and unsupported, to raise money for a new school minibus.

It is an admirable enough challenge at any time of year but all four cycled in temperatures that touched 40 degrees after they departed on Monday.

The final day looked like an epic battle as they arose before dawn to cycle the final part to Paris.

The cycle was dedicated to funding a new mini-bus for the school.
