ESSEX Firefighters were called to a kitchen fire at a ground floor flat in Sewell Harris Close, Harlow.

The fire was out by 11:25pm and used fans to help clear smoke from the property.

Firefighters administered first aid to a man in his seventies who had suffered burns to his hands during the fire.

The cause of the fire has been recorded as accidental.
