Harlow’s Brexit Party candidate details why he wants to be your next MP

THE BREXIT Party candidate at the next General Election has revealed his reasons for wanting to be the next MP for the town.
Neil Greaves said: “I am absolutely delighted to be standing as a Prospective Parliamentary Candidate for The Brexit Party in the Constituency of Harlow.
My father’s work brought him to Harlow over 40 years ago and I have been living in the surrounding area ever since. I have been trading the financial markets for over 30 years working in London, Chicago and New York.
Like millions of people across the country I have lost trust in our politicians. 17.4 million people sent a clear message through the ballot box. If a Clean Brexit is not implemented, then we risk undermining our democracy.
Harlow voted 68% to Leave and The Brexit Party got over 44% of the vote in the recent EU elections. Your voice is not being represented in Westminster by the Tories. In fact, recent Tory legalisation on ‘permitted development’ has caused a wealth of social and economic issues in Harlow.
Richard Tice, Brexit Party Chairman said: “The Brexit Party stands ready to fight a general election with a full slate of candidates in all the UK’s 650 constituencies. We will take on the major parties, which have failed the British people time and time again.
The vast majority of our candidates are entering politics for the first time and they come from all walks of life, backgrounds, races and religions. Their greatest strength is that they are not professional politicians, but are competent individuals, connected to their local areas and issues they seek to represent.
They have achieved great things in their professional or personal life, from entrepreneurs, small business owners and economists – to teachers, academics, forklift driver and bankers. But we all share a commitment to deliver Brexit, defend democracy and change politics for good.”
YH has been in contact with Mr Greaves and plans to interview him over the next few weeks.
Sorry, I think there is some text missing from the article. I thought this was a pitch as to why he should be MP? All I read was Brexit and an attack on one Conservative policy. Is that it or was there more? Would he like to elaborate on his plans for health, transport, education, defence, food and farming, wider housing issues, culture and sport or any other number of things politicians need to represent an area on. Fair enough, I hear you want to leave the EU and that most of Harlow voted for that...but i'm sorry there is more to it than that, and what happens when that aim is achieved? Now given he has worked so much in the US what does he think about health, do we keep the NHS or move to an insurance based system like the US? What about trade policies etc. There simply isn't enough here to have any confidence in voting for this guy unless all you can think about is BREXIT BREXIT BREXIT. I'll say it again, BREXIT, as to distract from any other reasonable debate on any other issue that someone should have...
Harlow does not want a single policy party as MP. Right now Brexit looks about as smart as eating soil, we don't want you or your nasty attitudes in our town.
Looks like another upset remainer who does not understand what a democratic vote is, you lost, get over it and get on with life.
Hi jhumphreys Lots of nails being hit very squarely on the head in your comment. I seem to remember Farrage promising to make up some policies after the Euro elections. Maybe even a manifesto if the wind was in the righjt direction. I haven't seen anything yet. I'm not holding my breath. It occurs to me that The Green Party have more policies than the Farrage Fan Club. Even the Monster Raving Loony Party have more of a manifesto than the Farrage Fan Club. Anyway, despite having a one word manifesto, and a one word policy, at least the Farrage Fan Club are putting forward candidates who can really represent all the people. Well, at least those, like Farrage, who were in the banking/finance/broker "industry". Can someone remind me which sector screwed up the economy and had to be bailed out by the taxpayer in 2008? Hi jarrett I know what a democratic vote is. I also know what a vote won on lies is. I also know what a vote won on racial slurs and racial fear is. (See the Farrage poster). I also know what a vote won because a campaigner organisation used illegal tactics is. I also know what a vote won and said organisation has been fined multiple times is. Please remember that you were promised a negotiated agreement would be swift, easy and painless – that we would “hold all the cards”, as Michael Gove put it. No deal was never a proposition during the referendum campaign.
