VETERANS from the Harlow Branch of the Royal British Legion and children of Far East Prisoners of War will be joined by the chair and vice chair of Harlow Council at a VJ Day Service of Remembrance.

The service will be held at 10.30am on Thursday August 15th down at the Netteswell Cross in the Town Park.

Victory over Japan Day (also known as V-J Day, Victory in the Pacific Day, or V-P Day) is the day on which Imperial Japan surrendered in World War II, in effect bringing the war to an end.
