History / Thu 15th Aug 2019 at 04:34pm

IN a simple but poignant ceremony, Victory in Japan Day (VJ Day) was marked down in Harlow Town Park.

The ceremony, organised by the Harlow branch of the Royal British Legion, was held by the special commemorative plaque at the Greyhound car park.

The chair of Harlow Council, cllr Clive Souter was joined by Legion members and a number of families whose relatives took part in the Far East campaign.

The service was led by the Legion padre, Albert Watson.
