Four community projects have been selected for the August SOUP:

FOUR projects have been selected for Harlow SOUP’s next community crowdfunding event on Thursday 29th August at Pemberley Academy, Harlow.
Sam’s Place: funding for trips and specialist equipment for Sam’s Place who work with children with additional needs and their families.
Singing for Memories: funding for musical instruments designed for people with dementia at the Gibberd Ward at Princess Alexandra Hospital.
Cool Connections: funding for a social club run by Accuro for children and young people with disabilities.
Harlow Stroke Support Group: funding for a personal carer to assist group members to attend the support group.
The event will see the four projects pitch their idea in four minutes to attendees, as well as answer four questions from the audience who will then vote for their favourite project.
The event is “pay what you feel” entry, and all of the money raised on the door is awarded to a project at the end of the night.
Doors will open from 6.30pm on Thursday 29th August and will feature live music from the Voices of Harlow choir, two homemade soups, bread, cakes, tea/coffee and more.
Previous winners Pact for Autism, who won £601.73 towards their project, will be presenting to attendees about how they have spent SOUP funds.
This Harlow SOUP event will also feature a farm shop with produce from Herts & Essex Community Farm, which is located in nearby Fold Croft.
Tickets for the Summer Raffle held by Herts & Essex Community Farm will also be on sale, with the draw taking place on 31st August.
Previous winners of Harlow SOUP have included homelessness charity Streets 2 Homes, Aspire Support Learn (ASL), the Butterfly Volunteers, Harlow Rock School and Plants, Pots and Wellies who all received hundreds of pounds towards their respective projects.
