Easter Bunny brings cheer (and eggs) to Newhall!

Communities / Tue 14th Apr 2020 at 11:28am

THE EASTER bunny paid a visit to Newhall to deliver eggs to families over the Easter period.

The Newhall Social Club had organised a variation in their egg hunt competition by asking families to put their rainbow posters in the front of the house.

The Easter bunny and team observed social distancing rules and delivered eggs across the area.

The event was sponsored by Ergal Hassan of First Class Learning.

Mr Hassan said: “We had the idea two weeks ago to just go for a stroll around the neighbourhood as part of our daily exercise and thought why not use the opportunity for good.

“It was truly amazing to see the reaction of all the children cooped up inside and the response has been incredible. People respected the social distancing measures cheering from balconies and front doors. Very much worth it in these bizarre times”.

One of the organisers, Cristin Casey said: “I drove around with eggs in car, playing music to let residents know that the Easter Bunny was in the area.

“The look of pure joy in the kids faces was heart warming. Such a simple idea that brought the community out and together at this challenging time.”

The Easter Bunny said: “I was incredibly impressed with the spirit and reaction from the community in these odd times. It was lovely to see the kids waving and cheering happy to see the bunny from afar.’
