Harlow councillor calls for investigation into domestic abuse during Covid-19 lockdown

A LEADING Harlow councillor has called for a full investigation into the effects of domestic abuse in Harlow during Covid-19.
Harlow Common councillor, Maggie Hulcoop has made a submission to Harlow Council’s Scrutiny Committee.
Among the issues, cllr Hulcoop wants to see investigated are:
To establish the extent of domestic abuse in Harlow during lockdown
To identify what support, including financial support, the Council can provide
To enable organisations to seek any national Government support
To help address any shortfall in provision of refuge services
To address long term issues of support for victims, especially regarding housing
