Harlow Hospital Radio to record panto!

Entertainment / Wed 18th Nov 2020 at 10:32am

EVERY year, the members of Harlow Hospital Radio (HHR) record a pantomime that is broadcast to patients who find themselves in hospital over the Christmas period.

Usually, the recording takes place on a Sunday in HHR’s studio at Princess Alexandra Hospital, but of course, this year that was not possible.

Zoom has come to the rescue! 13 HHR members gathered on Zoom and recorded this year’s panto, which was written by Jonny Hays, one of HHR’s members. Oh yes, we did!

With more corny jokes than a 70’s sitcom, HHR’s take on Sleeping Beauty takes the listener on an audio journey to meet all the characters you would expect in a pantomime.

It’s currently being edited and having sound effects added and will be ready for first broadcast at 5pm on Christmas Eve – and every day doing the festive season. Patients can hear it by listening in to channel 1 on the bedside entertainment systems at PAH – and it’s free!
