WITH local elections behind us and Covid restrictions beginning to ease, Harlow mp was out and about in his constituency on Friday.
Robert Halfon said: “As Covid restrictions ease, I am really happy to be doing more regular Harlow community visits once again. My first stop today was to visit Harlow Mens’ Shed. This is a remarkable charity that provides so much comfort, friendship, and support for men with mental health difficulties. It is a wonderful club that makes such a difference. I sat on a beautiful green bench made by Men’s Shed members. It is the kind of place you could sit for hours just chatting and even on cold days, feeling the warmth of human kindness.

‘I have been pleased to try and work with Men’s Shed to help them find larger premises. It is superb news that they will move to a bigger shed and area in the next few months. I will do everything I can to back Mens’ Shed in fundraising and promoting mental health support in Parliament.
‘Later, I was delighted to visit Harlow Wombles. What an extraordinary group of volunteers. With over 400 members, their litter picking activities have spread far and wide across Harlow. From Newhall to Potter Street, to Waterhouse Moor, they are everywhere, keeping Harlow greener and cleaner.

‘They do wonderful work. I thank every Womble for their community spirit, volunteerism – and above all – love of Harlow.
‘I hope very much that Residents, seeing all the litter collection work that the Wombles are doing, will make sure that they take responsibility too and do all they can to ensure that litter is thrown away where it belongs – in the bins.
