THE PORTFOLIO holder for regeneration has outlined plans to radically improve the town centre.
Councillor Dan Swords spoke at last weeks full council meeting.
Cllr Swords was keen to stress the work the new Conservative administration were doing to bring all the landowners together and keep the businesses onboard and informed.

Sounds like a recipe for congestion, overload and pollution, with the creation of high density high rise awful housing and non green sustainable "sustainable " corridors NS EW generating more traffic and a total blindness to the fact that the traditional town shopping centre or high street is dead. Stop wasting money trying to resurrect it and killing the town with traffic from across the region. Retail has already moved online and around the perimeter of the town, recognise the fact and celebrate the opportunity this presents to create a high quality environment within the town with the town centre dedicated to arts, entertainment, leisure and culture. Market Square could, with a new and creative vision, become an outdoor music and performance area working with the cafes and bars and perhaps a weekly or Christmas market centre for Harlow residents.
A live music venue that would bring people and commerce to the town centre is the elephant in the room.
