Letter to Editor: Time to look east and not to Downing Street

Dear Editor,
THE country currently has it’s eyes in the wrong direction. Whilst we are looking at the debacle currently in parliament of the incessant agenda of bringing down the prime minister by any means necessary, largely caused by the left wing bias main stream media. All eyes are on the Sue Gray report and the police investigation.
However elsewhere in the world, the Russian president met with his Chinese equivalent today. China has agreed to support Russia in invading the Ukraine and Europe and in return Russia has given China the go ahead to invade Taiwan and offered their support.
Two leftwing communist super powers are agreeing with each other to cause death, destruction and further global supremacy.
Right now we need our PM more than ever. Like him or hate him, that is irrelevant as the world truly faces the very real possibility of World War 3.
It really is time to remove all of our heads from the sand and point our eyes in this direction.

We replaced Prime Ministers during World War 1 and World War 2. Boris has weakened our country's standing. We need a Prime Minister who will be respected by other world leaders when facing potential threats.

Richard, do you think there might be some connection between us leaving the EU and Russia's activities. Certainly since we left there appears, as you point out, a deterioration in international security. This has happened on Mr Johnson's watch

Why trade with China and buy Russian gas? These trades support these regimes: buying Chinese goods wiped out uk manufacturing and buying fossil fuels from foreign governments gives them leverage over us whilst holding back development of our own alternative energy economy. Where's the sense, we complain about the threat but prop these governments up by funding their economies?

Russia has not been Communist since 8 December 1991 when Boris Yeltsin oversaw the demise of the Soviet Union. Western leaders showered praise on Mikhail Gorbachev and Boris for dismantling Communism, not for keeping it alive. Sanctions will not deter. Russia is a dictatorship (always has been) with no respect for human rights or international law. We saw this with the unlawful annexation of Crimea in 2014. The West should now accept a Ukrainian request to join NATO and send three divisions and a NATO fleet to the Black Sea. As we learned in 1938/39 appeasement with dictators does not work. Lenin once said, “You probe with a bayonet. If you find mush, you push; if you find steel, you withdraw. It is high time for Western steel. Russia is a paper tiger. Putin will fall at the first resistance.
