Harlow Foodbank to open its doors on Coronation Bank Holiday
Charity / Fri 28th Apr 2023 at 07:04am
ON the 8th May Coronation Bank Holiday Harlow Foodbank are opening the doors of their Store House to show visitors how the charity supports Harlow and the surrounding area.
In the past year they have gave out over 4,000 food parcels from the Foodbank.
Each one contained food donated by neighbours – mostly when they visit supermarkets.

But when they pick it up it is a great mix of all kinds of foods. This has to be sorted, stored then re-packaged to give to people in need at St Paul’s Church and the Salvation Army.
Everyone who comes to the Foodbank gets a nutritionally balanced package of long-life food.
So how is the food sorted, stored, date-checked and packaged for those who need it?
Book in an hour of your Bank Holiday to discover the answer!
The work happens at the Store House on the edge of Harlow – Housham Hall Farm. It is a beautiful setting… though quite industrial on a normal working day. But as it is a Bank Holiday they have got permission to open our doors to the public – for a limited number between 1 and 6 pm. There is an online mechanism for you to book in!
PLEASE DON’T JUST SHOW UP! They can’t take too many on site.
What are they asking of visitors?
