HARLOW’S first ever Squirrel drey celebrated their first Christmas together.

Squirrels are the new section in Scouts who come before Beavers and are for 4-6 year olds.

A spokesperson said: “We earn badges and prepare them for their scouting future. Evie and Steph set up the first Harlow drey earlier this year and it’s been a great few months so far at the 2nd Great Parndon drey.

“We have 13 squirrels invested with us so far, six leaders and four young leaders. We have enjoyed many fun activities this year such as visiting Harlow fire station, taking part in services for remembrance, enjoying bonfire night and district camp and going to a local carol service.

“This week we enjoyed walking around Ridgeways to see all the lovely Christmas lights.

“We meet on a Thursday 5-6pm at Risdens Scout Hut.
