Man suffers chemical and hammer attack in Brays Mead area of Harlow

ALL three emergency services attended an incident in the Brays Mead area of Harlow on Sunday night.
An Essex Police spokesperson said: “Officers are investigating an assault which took place at an address in Brays Mead, Harlow.
“We were called out to the scene at around 8.25pm on Sunday 25 August.
“It was established a man had been struck with a hammer. An unknown substance was also thrown over him. He suffered a head injury which is not life-threatening or life-changing.
“Our enquiries into this incident are ongoing.

An east of England ambulance service spokesperson said: “We attended an incident at 9pm in Brays Mead involving injuries with a knife and hammer.
We sent ambulances and the air ambulance attended.
“A patient was transported to the Princess Alexandra Hospital”.
Reading this I see the police say hammer used, but ambulance service say knife and hammer injuries? Plus, "unknown substance" could have been anything, not necessarily chemical. Strange, because the cops are normally good at getting multiple statements exact, word for word!
