AT the conclusion of the current season, the closest finish in the leagues twenty-five-year history saw Mick Johnson win Division One by just one point from Richard Maslanka.
Richard had knocked down over 14,000 pins going into the last morning of the season and had he bowled just 15 pins more than he did during that morning, he would have won the league.

In third place came Stewart Thompson, who but for missing a couple of weeks in the season could have made it an even tighter finish at the top.
Division Two was a family affair, won by Jim Banner, with wife Bev Banner coming second, pushing Paul Chatterton into third place by just one point, who in turn pushed John Ward in to fourth place by one point.
The handicap system used in most tenpin bowling leagues gives everyone an opportunity to do well in the league standings and this years close finish shows just how well the system works
The league is for bowlers over the age of 50, its new season starts at Tenpin, Harlow in September rolling off at 10 am. New members are always welcome.
