Harlow Gymnasts show their mettle at Tin, Zinc and Copper challenge

FOURTEEN gymnasts shone for Harlow Gymnastics club at the Tin, Zinc & Copper Challenge Levels competitions, competing against county gymnasts from top-flight clubs, at Colchester School of Gymnastics.

Francesca Walton triumphed with the overall silver medal in the Tin 2015 challenge after winning silver medal on bars, and bronze on both beam and floor. Competing in the same event, Amber Ford placed 6th on both bars and floor, finishing in 9th place overall.
In the Tin 2016 challenge, Olive Clarke collected 5th place rosette on beam and finished in 10th place overall, withTeodora Zinici finishing narrowly behind in 11th place after receiving the bronze medal for bars. Amaya Cumberbatch accomplished a silver medal on vault, placing 12th overall, with Penelope-Blue Baylis finishing in 13th overall after securing silver medal on floor and 4th place rosette on vault.
Millie Smith earned the bronze medal on vault and floor, and a 5th place rosette on beam, finishing in a commendable 5th place overall in the zinc age 9-10 event. Finishing 13th overall, Dulcie Kemp shared 5th place rosette on vault with teammate Lottie New who also took the 6th place rosette on bars and finished in 20th place overall in the same event.
Trophy joy in the zinc age 11+ for Freya Smith and teammate Marci Short. Freya won gold medal and trophy for vault, along with silver medal on floor, and 5th place overall rosette. Finishing narrowly behind in 6th place overall, Marci seized the gold medal and trophy for floor and another 6th place rosette on beam. In the same event Janelle Campbell finished in 13th place overall.
Meanwhile in the copper 12+ event, Genna Lee and teammate Willow Richards were neck and neck, securing the top of the podium on bars, with a trophy and gold medal for Genna along with a silver medal for Willow. Back on the podium for vault, Genna took the silver medal with Willow capturing the bronze. Despite the highly competitive field, Genna achieved the 5th place overall rosette, and Willow finished in 10th place overall.
