Harlow Foodbank set to open in new premises in Harvey Centre

Charity / Thu 3rd Oct 2024 at 10:31am

FROM Monday 7th October, a number of services will be operating from the former Wilko shop in the Harvey Centre.

A spokesperson for the Michael Roberts Charitable Trust said: “We are immensely grateful to the Harvey Centre and Harlow Council for supporting us to make this move.

Over the last few weeks we have been changing the layout of the shop in order to suit the various needs of our projects and the advisory services that support our neighbours in Harlow.

We will have a formal launch soon, but in the meantime the Bounty Club and Foodbank will move out of St Paul’s Church (with thanks to them as ever!) and our doors will open at 10 – 2 on weekdays.

Clients from Bump to Five will be able to pick up parcels from the shop and very shortly we will reopen the school uniform shop!

Advisory services from the Harlow Community Hub will be on site alongside other agencies who support those who visit us.

“By consolidating our services into one place (similar to when we were in BHS until July) we can offer more to those we help by helping them find more help in one venue. Thankfully the former Wilko is a warmer building and easier to find for regular town-centre goers. Entry to more confidential services will still be discreet”.
