IT was a mark of how popular the St Mark’s West Essex Catholic School open evening was by the fact that the assembly hall was packed twenty minutes before the headteacher John Taylor was due to speak.

Even before he spoke, every prospective parent had already met Mr Taylor as he greeted each and every one at the door.

There was also two excellent speeches by the Head Boy, Tom and Head Girl, Carly. They are both wonderful ambassadors for the school and were able to tell the assembled audience about their experience over the past six years.
