Success for Shinseikyu Karate Academy at annual Harlow Invitational Champs

HARLOW’S premier Karate Academy Shinseikyu Karate Academy hosted the Annual Harlow Invitational Karate Championships on the 3rd of November 2024 at Mark Hall Sports Centre (This Championship has been running since 1991)
Twelve Karate clubs competed from all over Essex, Suffolk & London with 149 competitors competing in Individual Kata (Sequences of moves) , Team Kata, Individual Kumite ( Sparring for points) & Team Kumite.

The Karate Academy came 4th in the medal table with the following results
Men’s Team Kumite 2nd Place ( Sempei Dave, Sempei Thomas Reynolds & Sandes)

Leo Boys Kumite 2nd Place
Eli boys Kata 3rd Place, Boys 4’4” to 4’9” Kumite 3rd Place, Team Kata 2nd Place
Jess Girls Kata 2nd Place
Eloise Girls Kata 1st Place & 3rd Place
Junior Sempei Joe boys black Belt Kata 3rd Place
Daniel Brown Belt Men’s Kumite 3rd
Sempei Thomas Reynolds Men’s Black Belt Kumite 2nd Place
Junior Sempei Guoda Girls Black Belt Kumite Joint 3rd Place
Junior Sempei Bupe Girls Black Belt Kumite Joint 3rd Place, Cadet Girls Kumite 3rd Place
Sandes Adult up to 6th Kyu Kumite 3rd Place
Casey Under 4′ Boys Kumite 1st Place, 4′ to 4’3 Kumite 3rd Place, Team Kata 3rd Place
A spokesperson said: “Not all our Karate students who entered won a medal or trophy, but we are extremely proud of them for entering, it takes a lot of courage & spirit to enter & to be judged on your ability.
