Harlow Town Cricket Club host family fun day

HARLOW Town Cricket Club was a hive of activity this past weekend as families, dog lovers, and cricket enthusiasts flocked to the much-anticipated MG3 Fun Day – and it did not disappoint.
What began as a heartfelt memorial to club legend Martin Gladwin, the MG3 Fun Day has grown into a much-loved annual event. Now, it serves a dual purpose: celebrating Martin’s enduring legacy, raising money for local charities, and creating an unforgettable day for the local community.

Basking in glorious sunshine, the event was filled with laughter, community spirit, and good old-fashioned fun. The dog show was a crowd favourite, with pooches of all shapes and sizes competing for top dog status. From best rescue to scruffiest dog, tails were wagging and so were the crowds.
Local stalls added a charming village fair vibe, selling everything from handmade crafts to delicious treats. Children (and more than a few adults) bounced their way through a sea of colourful inflatables, while food trucks served up an irresistible mix of sweet and savoury delights – from gourmet burgers and fish and chips to brownies and candy floss.

The day rounded off with a fantastic live set from local band Repertoire Dogs, who got toes tapping and voices singing as families settled in for an evening of music and great vibes.
Not only was the day packed with entertainment, it also raised vital funds for three incredible causes: The Princess Alexandra Hospital Charity, Xolo Rescue UK, and St Clare’s Hospice – organisations that do vital work in and around Harlow.
Harlow Town Cricket Club, the heart of the day’s festivities, continues to thrive and grow. If you’re inspired to get involved, the club is always welcoming new members. Senior cricket practice takes place every Wednesday at 6pm, and junior training is every Thursday at 6pm.
