When is the UK going to make it illegal for lorry’s to overtake on dual carriageways etc like they have in Europe? Lorry’s cutting in and out is nothing but dangerous!

Best of luck if your stuck in that hell,I always use the back roads between airport and Harlow, there's a few, otherwise it can be a nightmare on that m11.

We have just been turned around and brought off the motorway to re-route via B183 so looks like it's going to be closed for an extended period of time. Prayers for all directly involved.

When will car drivers stop cutting lorry drivers up, they can only do 56mile a hour and run on a tackograph so have to run by the law. I’ve seen cars come across from the third lane to come off and expect the lorry drivers to let them in trying to stop on a sixpence talk about no respect anymore it’s all bout YOU

@B the accident happened on a 3 lane motorway, not a duel carriageway as you mentioned, banning lorries overtaking (as per Europe) utterly ridiculous, you want less lorries on the road, stop buying things! better option is to have cars sitting in the middle lane too move over.

A lot of accidents like this is caused by car drivers who don't get it ,0 or 30ton lorries need a hell of a lot more breaking distance then car drivers, these are the ones who need to be educated I personally have driven 12 ton buses Nowhere near the lorries weight, but have had quite a few run ins with cars cutting you up,also you have passengers to consider

Lorries and Cars both too blame, for driving too close to each other on this stretch of M11. If we had chevrons/markers on road to assist, maybe this could help drivers understand, the gap needed to stop safely. They have these on other parts of M11.

Too many idiots on the road

I've noticed people are quick to judge who is at fault. None of you have got a clue. The driver of the lorry may have been taken ill or something may have gone wrong with the lorry.

Deano the lorry drivers been arrested and a young man is dead, the poor bloke never stood a chance.

"banning lorries overtaking (as per Europe) utterly ridiculous, you want less lorries on the road, stop buying things!" - Sean The likely reason EU made it illegal for HGVs is to lessen road accidents on dual carriage ways, not stamping out lorries. Further more... telling people not to shop to lessen HGVs on the road... really? REALLY?!
