Sunday 20 July, 6.15pm:
Following a large number of individuals congregating on Epping High Road, we have taken the decision to temporarily close the road.
The road closure will enable us to move traffic on safely from the area and ensure the safety of all – both motorists and pedestrians.
Please bear with us while this remains in place and thank you for your patience.
As soon as we can lift this we will.

ESSEX Police have issued the following statement in relation to the situation in Epping.
A spokesperson said: “We are aware of a planned protest this afternoon in #Epping
“We have a full policing plan in place to ensure the safety of everyone who is attending.

“To protect the public this evening we have put a power in place to require the removal of face coverings (under section 60AA of the Criminal Justice and Public Order Act 1994).
“If you are planning to protest peacefully about issues which are important to you and your community then this is entirely lawful.
“However, on Thursday night we unfortunately saw incidents of violence and aggression which have no place on our streets.
“We will deal robustly and quickly with anyone intent on coming into #Epping to commit selfish criminal behaviour.
“We will police impartially, without fear or favour, and have legal responsibilities to protect those who want to exercise their rights peacefully and we cannot prevent, hinder or restrict peaceful assembly.
The right to peaceful protest is protected by law and allows everyone freedom of expression, but this must be done respectfully and if there is a risk to public order we will act appropriately.
“Thursday’s protest saw people wearing face coverings and committing serious acts of disorder.
“Anyone who refuses to remove a face covering when required to do so is likely to be arrested and if convicted could face imprisonment.
“This order is in place now and will be in place until tomorrow morning, Monday July 21.
Please see the map for area affected by the order.
“The order includes Epping Underground Station.
“Following Thursday’s incident, a 33-year-old man from Loughton has today been charged with violent disorder and criminal damage. He will appear before Magistrates in the morning.
“One individual has already been arrested this evening in Epping and is currently being taken to custody”.
Cool tell everyone when and where it is so more people turn up 🤣 Stupid advertising it
Will that include the multiple police minibuses who picked up the socialist worker pro refugee and stand up to racism protesters from London at Epping tube station yesterday and took them to near the Bell Hotel and then later took them back to the tube station? I would love to know the police thinking behind that one and at what level that decision was made?. Policing is a tough enough job as it is without senior officers making incendiary calls putting their own officers at even greater risk.
it is getting very weird the stand up to facism people have lovely pre printed banners, get bussed in by the police and cause trouble. Seamus it is to enable a narrative to be created that the protestors are racist etc, its beyond that now most people do not care about labels they care about their communities being safe and they are not thanks to government actions and failure yet again of the police and media to hold government to account or ask awkward questions.
The police are doing an excellent job protecting the public, and protecting everyone's right to protest peacefully. It's interesting see the reaction from opposite directions, when the police protect everyone.
Imagine protesting against a protest to protect children. Imagine protecting sexual predators instead of the children! Only the left would do such a thing.
