A Level Results: Fantastic set of results for St Mark’s students

STUDENTS at St Mark’s were delighted with another strong showing of A Level results. There were scenes of celebration as results were opened. Collectively the performance of the cohort was very good and there were some fantastic individual achievements.
Students were thrilled with their outcomes, and nearly all have secured their first university choices or have met the conditions required for degree apprenticeships, employment or other apprenticeships and training.
Headteacher John Taylor said “I am thrilled for these young people, for the families and for their teachers. They have worked hard and now take the rewards.
It was particularly pleasing to see strong performances from students who joined us in the Sixth Form. They will have exciting times ahead of them and we wish them every success with what comes next. It has been a privilege to share this journey with these incredible young people”.
Some standout individual performances included.
Luca (A,A,A,B)
Luca achieved his grades in Computer Science, Maths, Biology and Chemistry. He has secured a place at King’s College London to read General Engineering, Luca said “Studying at the Sixth Form was the best choice for me. It enabled me to focus on my studies, and I have excelled. I am grateful to my teachers and my parents for their support”.

Jasmine (B,B,B)
Jasmine achieved great grades in Business Studies, Sociology and Geography. She has secured a place at the University of Manchester to read Modern Languages (Chinese) and Business & Management. Reacting to her results Jasmine thanked her teachers and said “I am pleased with my results. I am going to be moving to a different area, and I am going to be independent. I have enjoyed my time at St Mark’s and I look forward to the future”.
Maame (A, A, A)
Maame gained excellent results in Politics, Sociology and Business Studies enabling her to go to the Queen Mary University to read Business Management and analytics. Having joined St Mark’s in the Sixth Form an overjoyed Maame said, “I am delighted, and I want to thank St Mark’s and all my teachers for helping and supporting me”.

Rose (A,B,B)
Rose achieved exceptionally good grades in Sociology, Business and PE. Rose has applied for a place at the University of Manchester to read Law. Commenting on her achievements Rose said “I worked really hard but it’s still a shock when you see these results. I would like to thank the staff for their support though my time here, it has been excellent”.

Sam (A,B,B,B)
Sam achieved his excellent grades in Maths, German, Chemistry and Physics. Next year he will be reading Mechanical Engineering at the University of Nottingham. Sam said “I am excited to pursue my passion. I am so grateful for all the support and opportunities I have had at St Mark’s, and I am looking forward to university”.

James (Dist* B,B)
James achieved his grades in Health & Social Care, Product Design, and Business Studies. He is going to be starting work in the design industry. James said “I was confident, but you are always anxious until you see the results. However, I am really happy with them, and they give me a great platform for my career and future study. I am really appreciative of all of the support I have had, especially for the amazing technology department.

William (A*C,C)
William shone with his results and has secured a place at the University of Southampton to read Geography. William achieved his grades in German, Theology and Geography. Reflecting on his results William had this to say “Thes results have gone well, and the highlight was German. All in all, I am really happy and St Mark’s has been a great experience, the support has been excellent, and I am so happy”.

Inayah (B,B,B)
Inayah, having joined St Mark’s in Year 12 achieved her grades in Business Studies, Psychology and Sociology. Next year she will be reading Business Management at City University of London. Inayah said I had an exceptional experience at St Mark’s and the best support here. I am so pleased with my results, and I am now both nervous and excited for the future”.
