FOLLOWING highly successful A Level results last week, St Edmund’s College in Ware is delighted to announce that its GCSE results are its best to date. Over a third of the grades awarded to this year’s GCSE cohort at St Edmund’s were at the highest level of 8-9 (previously A*).

Individual pupil success stories included Cosimo C, Megan C, Megan S, Jessica B and Amelia J who each achieved grades 8-9 in all of their subjects. An impressive 20% of the year group scored an average GCSE grade of over 8, with many additional success stories of pupils achieving higher than expected results.

Headmaster Matthew Mostyn praised the year group’s achievements: “We are absolutely delighted with this year’s results, which are testament to the pupils’ hard work and the support they have received from our exceptional teaching staff as well as their parents and guardians. We look forward to seeing many of the year group return in September for the next step in their academic journey as they embark on A Levels or CTECs. The academic results achieved today will give pupils a strong foundation for their future endeavours. While our wider holistic approach to educating the whole person will ensure that they will also have the leadership skills and emotional resilience required to succeed – whatever their next step.”
