ST MARK’S Year 7 football team played their first game of the season in the Essex Cup.

This is always a difficult competition with top quality teams across the county.

The is also the first game the new boys have played in senior school, having represented their primary schools from Holy Cross to Cooks Spinney.

The team beat Woodbridge High School (from Woodford Green) 2-1 in the first round of the cup.
