STATEMENT from Harlow parkrun

Unfortunately, we’ve had to make the difficult decision to cancel this week’s parkrun.

While we had found a workable solution to amend the course, some technical changes required by parkrun HQ meant this was a little tricky. Added to this, the weather forecast isn’t looking great, and we were still short on key volunteer roles 24 hours before the event (3 marshals, 1 timekeeper, 2 close down, and only 1 barcode scanner).

Taking all of this into account, we felt it was best – though very reluctantly – to cancel this week.
We’re really hopeful that next week will be different, and it would be a huge help if volunteer roles could be filled earlier in the week.

This takes pressure off the core team, who are working hard behind the scenes to make sure we can put on a safe, enjoyable event for everyone.

Thank you for your understanding – we’re sorry not to be welcoming you this Saturday, but we’ll be back next week with smiles, hi-vis heroes, and parkrun spirit!
