ESSEX Police and their partners were out on patrol in the Nicholls Field area of Harlow on Thursday as they continue to try and trace the two men who attacked a motorcyclist on the cycle path on Tuesday afternoon.
YH spoke to Inspector Leanne Archer.
Insp Archer said: “We are here to show a visible presence here in Nicholls Field. We are here to reassure the public but we are also here to get as much information about what happened on Tuesday.
“If anyone has any ring door bell footage or CCTV. We need your help so that we can find the offenders”.

YH asked Insp. Archer about the concern Harlow residents had seeing armed officers on a cycle track on a Tuesday afternoon, at a time when school children were going home.
Insp Archer said: ” We have to make sure we have the most appropriate officers in order to ensure safety for everyone.”
Insp Archer could not comment on whether the two person captured on film had been arrested.
We asked if they were linking this to the machete attack on Second Avenue?

Insp Archer said: “There were a number of incidents that day (Tuesday) and officers are trawling through evidence.
“We are appealing to people to send in evidence to us. We need your help”.
We asked Insp Archer if they had lost control of our cycle tracks? Residents, especially parents, are fearful as bikes scream down the cycle tracks every day.
Insp Archer said: “No, we have not lost control of our cycle tracks. They are a vital part of Harlow life. We patrol them regularly and continuously. You may not see officers but they are there.
Insp Archer concluded: “I know and appreciate that people put photos on social media but we need them to work with us, to contact us”.

Without undermining the seriousness of the attacks perhaps getting a police officer to walk the streets of Potter Street would be a worthwhile goal. Wouldn't it? Yes is the correct answer.
As a resident of this town for over 50 years you just have to wonder what's going on and where is it going ?
Gary, the coppers do go to Potter Street, but never make it past Dorringtons.
Gary, not past fish chicken.
