Harlow Fields School & College PTFA brings the community together for a magical first Christmas Fair

Education / Tue 9th Dec 2025 at 11:58am

HARLOW Fields School & College was filled with joy, warmth and festive spirit on Saturday as the school’s incredible PTFA hosted their first ever Christmas Fair — an event that surpassed all expectations and brought our whole community together in the most heart-warming way.

Building on the success of two highly successful Summer Fairs, the PTFA once again delivered an unforgettable event that showcased their creativity, dedication and passion for our pupils. Their first Christmas Fair raised an amazing £1,549.29, a testament to the commitment and hard work of the entire team.

One of the standout features of the day was the beautifully created sensory-friendly grotto, designed for pupils who may not be able to access a traditional Santa experience. Forty-five children visited Father Christmas in a calm, personalised setting created just for them. Parents shared how he spent quality, unhurried time with each child, making the experience truly magical.

Another much-loved feature was the school’s very own African Land Snail Stall, offering a wonderful selection of hand-crafted gifts made by staff and pupils. All proceeds are going directly towards the care and upkeep of the snails, and the stall was a perfect example of the creativity and pride within our school community.

The Fair also showcased impressive student enterprise. Our Sixth Form Enterprise Stall sold beautiful, high-quality Christmas decorations and personalised keepsakes, all made by our talented students. Their craftsmanship and professionalism were widely praised by visitors.

The Fair was buzzing from start to finish: festive stalls, music, games, warm smiles everywhere, and a real sense of togetherness. Staff, families, friends and supporters came out in force, demonstrating once again the strength and heart of the Harlow Fields community.

Headteacher Kathleen M Faherty praised the team:

“The Fair was extraordinary. For their first Christmas event, the PTFA went above and beyond. Their work consistently brings our community together in the most special way, and they make such a positive difference to our children and families. We are incredibly grateful.”

This first Christmas Fair marks another milestone for a PTFA that has already made a huge impact at Harlow Fields. Their enthusiasm, warmth and dedication continue to elevate the experiences we can offer our children.

Harlow Fields would like to thank every volunteer, every visitor, every stallholder, and most of all, our remarkable PTFA team for creating a magical day that our pupils and families will cherish.

We would like to wish all our pupils, families, staff, supporters and the wider Harlow community a very warm and joyful Merry Christmas. May the season bring peace, happiness and moments of togetherness for all.
