A LARGE number of students undertake work experience across the town.
Recently, two students did their work experience down at Parndon Mill.
They wrote to us to tell us how it went as well as sending us a very well written story on th represent exhibition.

“We came to Parndon Mill for our work experience after our friend Henry, who volunteers here, told us about it. He spoke so positively about the Mill that we felt we had to come and see it for ourselves. Thanks to his encouragement, we were able to experience a creative environment that feels supportive and inspiring.
Since being here, we’ve had the chance to try pottery, textiles, origami and painting, in addition to learning about how the gallery operates. We have also been given an in-depth introduction to the current exhibition at the Parndon Mill Gallery – Glasshaus XVIII.

Featuring work by over 40 makers, this exhibition marks an exciting new partnership as Parndon Mill’s resident Glass artists Ewa Wawrzyniak, Jon Lewis, Yuki Kokai, Muna Zuberi and Margery Lovatt are joined by The Just Glass Society to create a bold exhibition that celebrates the scope of this amazing material.

Set within a historic riverside site, Glasshaus XVIII showcases a diverse range of contemporary glass artworks by both emerging and established artists. It invites visitors to explore creativity, discover new perspectives, and enjoy art in a welcoming and inspiring space.
This exhibition runs between 18th January – 1st March 2026
Parndon Mill Trust offers valuable opportunities for young people and helps ensure that art remains accessible to the wider community. The Mill and its tenants have been extremely welcoming and have given us the freedom to experiment and develop new skills during our time here. We’ve practiced teamwork, communication, creativity, and time management, as well as practical techniques applied when assisting artists.
