THERE was a good spread of results at Chelmsford Racecourse on Thursday evening, with three winning favourites across the seven races and a pair of winners at double figure odds.
Read on for a report of the Chelmsford card, brought to you by Betano who provide all the latest horse racing odds.

We began with a six-furlong maiden (5.30). The first of our winning favourites came in here with the Mick Appleby-trained Moscow Power, ridden by Jason Watson. Having raced in touch with the leaders, the three-year-old made headway over the final furlong and won by a comfortable distance of over two lengths.
Next was a six-furlong handicap (6.00). Combustion was the market leader here at 11/4, but was beaten by the first winning leg of Callum Shepherd and Michael Bell’s double as 9/2 shot Gold Star Hero made all and was never caught, winning by a length with the favourite behind him in second.
Another six-furlong handicap followed (6.30). Shepherd and Bell’s double came in quickly here, as 100/30 favourite Go Lockers Go ran on well to win by over a length, followed in by A Lott Of Kane and Faithful Dream in second and third. 14/1 shot What A Tahoo was fourth.
Race four was a mile and three quarter handicap (7.00). We had a pair of Marcos winning here, as trainer-jockey combination Marco Botti and Marco Ghiani won with King’s Cruiser, beating the 3/1 favourite Take The Boat. The winner led and largely kept the lead, winning by a short head to the favourite.
A five-furlong handicap was next (7.30). We had the first of our double-figure odds winners here as Skellig Isle won for Philip McBride under Cieren Fallon. Despite having looked outpaced at the rear of the field, the four-year-old ran on well in the final two furlongs, eventually winning comfortably by over two lengths to runner-up Fiorella Princess.
The second last race was a seven-furlong handicap (8.00). Here, we had the second of our double-figure odds winners as the Mark Usher-trained Shades Of May became the winner by keeping on well despite drifting left, finishing ahead by half a length under Rose Dawes, beating the favourite Caragio.
Finally, racing concluded with a 10-furlong handicap (8.30). The favourite, Engross, was our winner for trainer James Fanshawe, ridden by Daniel Muscutt. The three-year-old took the lead inside the final furlong and winning by a length to the runner-up, 5/1 shot Zipwire, who was followed in by Aneirin’s Sword.
